USJ Macao and Instituto Superior de Educação e Ciências Sign MoU to Enhance Academic Collaboration

The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao and the Instituto Superior de Educação e Ciências (ISEC) in Lisbon, Portugal, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote academic and scientific cooperation.
The USJ School of Education organised a one-day educational tour titled “Pathways of Knowledge: Visit to HKU and CSSHK”.
The collaboration involves establishing a student admission scheme at USJ for graduating CDSJ6 students.
Prof. Thomas Lei, Chair of the ISE Scientific Council at the Institute of Science and Environment (ISE), visited Guangzhou City University of Technology (GCUT) for meetings and discussions on further collaborations.

This year’s event focused on the theme of Biodiversity, bringing together organizations, researchers, and members of the public to promote environmental awareness and conservation.
Emil Ip Chi Hang has successfully defended his doctoral thesis in Business Administration titled: “INFLUENCE OF INSTITUTIONAL FORCES ON OPEN INNOVATION PROCESSES IN SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (SMEs) FROM THE GUANGDONG, HONG KONG, MACAO GREATER BAY AREA (GBA) – INDEPTH ANALYSIS AND FRAMEWORK PROPOSITION“.
Li Xiang has successfully defended his doctoral thesis in Psychology titled: “LIFE-AND-DEATH EDUCATION: A STUDY ON EFFECTIVENESS AND FEASIBILITY OF A COMMUNITY BASED PROGRAM TARGETING YOUTH VOLUNTEERS WORKING WITH THE ELDERLY IN MACAO”.

USJ Macao, represented by Vice-Rector Professor Álvaro Barbosa, engaged in new international partnerships and future MoUs following successful engagements at APAIE 2026 in Hong Kong, advancing Macao’s vision as a premier regional center for higher education collaboration.
USJ joined the Quantum Computing Research Alliance by signing a strategic collaboration agreement.
A Delegation of Fu Jen Catholic University (FJCU) visited USJ Macao on 27 February, to discuss collaborative initiatives with a focus on fostering academic exchange and student mobility.
Emeritus Professor Keith Morrison has co-edited a book titled “Handbook of Mixed Methods Research in Education”, released in February 2026 by Edward Elgar Publishing.
