Short Bio

Dr. Hon Leng Ian brings 17 years of secondary-school teaching experience, mainly in English, into his work in higher education. He holds a Master’s in English Studies, a Master’s in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a Ph.D. in Education.

His research focuses on the sociology of education and educational psychology, with particular interest in teacher identity and buoyancy, the relationships between teachers and students, and English-language teaching methods.

He is committed to helping pre-service and beginning teachers develop a fuller understanding not only of educational theories and teaching methodologies, but also of themselves and the students they work with.
