This event gathered educational leaders to discuss strategies for enhancing partnerships with Portuguese-speaking countries.
Jointly organised by Macao Ricci Institute at the University of Saint Joseph, Macao, and Wofoo Social Enterprise, the Deignan Award for Responsible Entrepreneurship, is accepting applications until 1st November 2024!
This roundtable conference was held for the first time at USJ, invited experts, scholars and related practitioners from the fields of sports science, nutritional science, psychology and other fields to discuss about “Healthy Life and Nutritional Concerns for Teenagers in the Smart Era”.
Prof. Ge provided a comprehensive analysis of the latest trends in global curriculum reform and discussed the evolving needs and challenges in teacher professional development brought about by these changes.
The exhibition, running until October 30, 2024, shines a spotlight on the rich biodiversity of Macao’s wetlands through a stunning collection of photographs.

On October 19, 2024, the USJ-Kong Hon Academy for Cellular Nutrition and Health, the USJ Faculty of Health Sciences, Macao Jianghan Biomedical Technology Development Group Co. Ltd., and Huajian Pharmaceutical, jointly organised the “Natural Functional Food R&D Exchange Conference and KB-120 Cell Nutrient Sino-Portuguese R&D Cooperation” held at Wynn Palace.
During the exhibition, Prof. George Wencai Du, Dean of the USJ Institute of Data Engineering and Science, presented the innovative result of the “portable tumor risk diagnostic Instrument”, developed by the “IDEAS-Wumin High-tech Joint Laboratory for Health Risk Digital Diagnosis and Equipment”.
USJ Macao launched the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Forum” to foster international collaboration and economic diversification, and to promote opportunities for entrepreneurs and academics in the Greater Bay Area.
With the signing of this protocol, the USJ is now positioned to extend its expertise from the GBA to the business communities of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries and its affiliates.
Members of the School of Education participated in a three-day specialised training on inclusive education at the School of Educational Sciences of Chongqing Normal University.

Prof. Helen Liu gives talk on mental health and drug prevention for minority communities in Macao

Prof. Helen Liu of the Faculty of Health Sciences was invited to give a talk at the ARTM “Be Cool Project” to promote mental health and prevent the use of drugs for minority communities in Macao.
This achievement recognises the university’s mission in “promoting a caring, ethically responsible, economically, socially and environmentally sustainable society”, highlighting its strong commitment to sustainability and its impactful initiatives aimed at promoting environmental responsibility.
USJ Macao hosted the First Lusophone Arbitration Congress on October 11 and 12, attracting over 100 delegates from various regions, including China and Portuguese-speaking countries. Co-organised by ALAM and key arbitration institutions, the congress emphasised the vital role of arbitration in resolving commercial disputes.

The Macau Observatory for Social Development of USJ and the Macau Association for Community Care Children co-organised ‘2024 Greater Bay Area Children and Youth Development Roundtable’ on October 8.
The three institutions will work together to promote activities and projects in three main areas of activity: Research, Teaching and Professional Training; Art, Culture and Tourism; Innovation and Economic and Social Development.
The initiative emphasized the importance of cherishing God’s creation and working collectively to create an eco-friendly environment for future generations.
