USJ Macao hosted the First Lusophone Arbitration Congress on October 11 and 12, attracting over 100 delegates from various regions, including China and Portuguese-speaking countries. Co-organised by ALAM and key arbitration institutions, the congress emphasised the vital role of arbitration in resolving commercial disputes.

The Macau Observatory for Social Development of USJ and the Macau Association for Community Care Children co-organised ‘2024 Greater Bay Area Children and Youth Development Roundtable’ on October 8.
The three institutions will work together to promote activities and projects in three main areas of activity: Research, Teaching and Professional Training; Art, Culture and Tourism; Innovation and Economic and Social Development.
The initiative emphasized the importance of cherishing God’s creation and working collectively to create an eco-friendly environment for future generations.
On September 23rd 2024, USJ Faculty of Business and Law and The Chinese Traditional Culture (Macau) Exchange and Development Association host a round table regarding the policies towards Hong Kong and Macao during the “Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China”.
This event aimed to explore biodiversity in Macao’s urban wetland ecosystems and the vital role of water stewardship, addressing the challenges and opportunities surrounding sponge city construction in Macao.
USJ was invited to participate in the Manila World University Fair where hundreds of high schoolers and their families and counsellors were in attendance.

USJ Benchmarking with UNISERVITATE Asia & Oceania Regional Hub on Service-Learning Initiatives

Representatives from the De La Salle University-UNISERVITATE Asia & Oceania Regional Hub (UA& ORH) visited USJ on 9th August, 2024.
The “Third Macau Secondary School Model United Nations Conference” co-organised by the Macau Model United Nations Promotion Association (MMUNPA), the Faculty of Health Sciences, and the Macao Observatory for Social Development, was held from the 9th to the 11th of August at USJ.
The workshop aimed to help students re-examine their values, attitudes, knowledge and skills, discover their expectations and aspirations for their learning and life, and create a mutually supportive and encouraging space to facilitate exchange among the students.
USJ organised a successful coastal clean-up, collecting 70kg of marine debris and using the recently developed SWEEP Macao app, developed by the ISE/USJ team, to identify and quantify the debris collected.
