Aug

This August, passionate student changemakers from Catholic Higher Education Institutions across the Asia and Oceania region will gather at USJ Macao to celebrate, share, and accelerate transformative social impact.

Counting Down to the Summit: Join Us for SLSS 2026!

The University of Saint Joseph, Macao, is set to host the upcoming Service-Learning Student Summit 2026 (SLSS 2026) and the concurrent Uniservitate Award 2026 Awarding Ceremony, taking place from August 32–6, 2026, at the Ilha Verde Campus. This landmark regional event is organised by De La Salle University, serving as the Uniservitate Asia and Oceania Regional Hub.

As we count down to the opening day, excitement is building around this year’s powerful theme: “Reciprocal Convergence: Empowering the Asia and Oceania Region’s Collective Action through Service-Learning”.

This theme highlights the critical importance of mutual learning, academic integration, and solidarity. Throughout the summit, student-led presentations and expert-led Regional Situationers will showcase how academic knowledge can be directly translated into sustained, real-world social change. Every project featured is explicitly mapped to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Global Compact on Education, and the principles of Laudato Si’.

The SLSS 2026 Exhibit: A Showcase of Student Innovation

A core highlight of SLSS 2026 is the SLSS 2026 Exhibit, titled “Intersections of Transformative Collective Actions and Service-Learning Experiences”. This exhibition serves as a dynamic showcase of actual student experiences, critical reflections, and tangible community outputs.

Attendees will have the opportunity to interact directly with student teams at designated themed booths.

Celebrating Excellence: Uniservitate Award 2026 Ceremony

Conjointly with student presentations, the summit will host the prestigious Uniservitate Award 2026 Awarding Ceremony on Wednesday, August 5.

This global ceremony recognises high-quality educational practices that demonstrate measurable, supportive contributions to solving systemic social problems. Awards will be presented to First Place Awardees, Special Mentions, and outstanding SL Institutional Programmes—all co-created in deep solidarity with community organisations.
