Prof. Jaroslaw Duraj of the the Faculty of Religious Studies and Philosophy, along with students of Bachelor of Christian Studies, participated in a trip to Xi’an, China, that was organised to inspire the participants to reflect on the adaption of world religions to Chinese culture in Chinese history.

The Commission for World Mission and Evangelization (CWME) of the World Council of Churches (WCC, headquarters in Switzerland) assembled in person for the first time in their term (2023-2030) in Nairobi, Kenya, hosted by the “All Africa Council of Churches” (AACC) in Desmond Tutu Conference Center, from the 5th to the 11th of July, 2024.

The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao gathered renowned scholars from Macao, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the United States, to collectively explore and honor the history and legacy of the First Council of Bishops in Shanghai, China, in 1924.

USJ Macao will host an International Symposium from June 26 – 29, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First Council for China, held in Shanghai in 1924. This was the first plenary council of the Catholic Church in China.

This rare 16mm color film – including original sound narration by filmmaker Fr. Bernard Hubbard – takes the audience through postwar China in 1947–1948, including rare scenes from Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai, and Yangzhou and Chinese Catholic communities related to these cities.
