About the Winning Paper:

Adapting the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT-2) to the Acceptance of Public Policies.

Abstract: As innovative ideas and technologies are introduced into society, researchers have extensively studied their acceptance and use process. In assessing various influencing factors, the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT-2) is one of the most widely used models as it represents a state-of-the-art synthesis of previous research. In this study, we adapt the UTAUT-2 to assess individuals’ acceptance of new policies. Structural Equation Modeling software (SmartPLS) is used to assess the model based on a survey of 136 respondents regarding the implementation of the “Macau Cars Going Northward” policy. The aim of this work is to provide a model designed to be the foundation for studies looking at the introduction of upcoming policies.

Keywords: Policy Acceptance, Policy Adoption, Economic Development Policy (SDG8), Transportation (SDG11).
