International journal E-REI publishes a special issue on Intercultural Dialogues in the Post-Digital World

The E-REI – E.Journal of Intercultural Studies (ISSN: 2182-6439) (SCOPUS) has recently published its latest special issue, titled Intercultural Dialogues in Post-Digital World 1, USJ Macao.

The E-REI – E.Journal of Intercultural Studies (ISSN: 2182-6439) (SCOPUS) has recently published its latest special issue, titled Intercultural Dialogues in Post-Digital World 1, USJ, Macao/China. This edition was guest-edited by Professor Álvaro Barbosa, Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), Macao, and Professor Adérito Fernandes Marcos, Dean of the Doctoral School at USJ, with Clara Sarmento, Director of the Centre for Intercultural Studies of the Polytechnic University of Porto, Portugal, bringing together a rich collection of interdisciplinary contributions.

The issue offers valuable insights from researchers at the University of Saint Joseph, including Prof. Ansoumane Douty Diakité, Prof. Florence Lei, Prof. Jenny Philips, and Prof. Jana Ho. The USJ PhD students Ivo Martins and Leung Sok Ieng, as well as USJ PhD graduates Hong-Wai Ho and Manuel Chau, are also among the authors. 

In a post-digital world where technology is no longer separate from social life, this Special Issue demonstrates why intercultural dialogue is essential to understanding education, governance, leadership, finance, art, social media and artificial intelligence.

Drawing on empirical studies from Macau, Timor-Leste, Bangladesh, Australia, Brazil, Portugal and global financial centres, the articles reveal that technological innovation can both create new opportunities and reproduce inequalities, prejudices and power relations.

Rather than simply celebrating digital progress, this issue invites readers to think critically about more ethical, inclusive and culturally responsive futures, in which human agency remains central at the threshold of post-digital complexity.

The editors encourage readers, scholars and practitioners to engage with this timely and thought-provoking Special Issue, which offers a meaningful contribution to ongoing debates on intercultural dialogue, technological mediation and social transformation in a post-digital world.

A revista internacional E-REI publica uma edição especial sobre Diálogos Interculturais no Mundo Pós-Digital

A E-REI – E.Journal of Intercultural Studies (ISSN: 2182-6439) (SCOPUS) publicou recentemente um número especial, intitulado Diálogos Interculturais no Mundo Pós-Digital 1, USJ, Macau/China . Esta edição contou com a coordenação dos editores convidados Professor Álvaro Barbosa, Vice-Reitor para a Internacionalização e Assuntos Académicos da Universidade de São José (USJ), Macau, e Professor Adérito Fernandes Marcos, Diretor da Escola Doutoral da USJ, com Clara Sarmento, Diretora do Centro de Estudos Interculturais do Instituto Politécnico do Porto, Portugal, reunindo uma rica coleção de contributos interdisciplinares.

Esta edição apresenta contributos valiosos de investigadores da Universidade de São José, incluindo os Professores Ansoumane Douty Diakité , Florence Lei , Jenny Philips e Jana Ho . Os doutorandos da USJ, Ivo Martins e Leung Sok Ieng, bem como os doutorados recentes, Hong-Wai Ho e Manuel Chau, também figuram entre os autores.

Num mundo pós-digital, onde a tecnologia já não se distingue da vida social, esta edição especial demonstra por que o diálogo intercultural é fundamental para compreender áreas como educação, governação, liderança, finanças, arte, redes sociais e inteligência artificial.

Com base em estudos empíricos realizados em Macau, Timor-Leste, Bangladesh, Austrália, Brasil, Portugal e em centros financeiros globais, os artigos mostram que a inovação tecnológica pode tanto criar oportunidades quanto perpetuar desigualdades, preconceitos e relações de poder.

Em vez de simplesmente celebrar os avanços digitais, esta edição convida os leitores a refletir criticamente sobre futuros mais éticos, inclusivos e culturalmente sensíveis, nos quais a agência humana permanece central perante a complexidade pós-digital.
