This programme prepares you to become a professional kindergarten, primary, or secondary school teacher.

The Bachelor of Education (BEd) provides students with practical and professional knowledge, as well as dispositions essential for teaching. The BEd offers hands-on experiences, theoretical learning, and the skills needed to become an effective teacher. The programme combines academic study where students will explore principles of teaching and learning, curriculum planning, assessment, inclusive practices, subject content knowledge, and a teaching practice placement.

Five specialisations are offered in Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary English, Secondary Portuguese, and Secondary Religious Education. English or Portuguese language proficiency equivalent to B1 level (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is required for the secondary education specialisations. Specialist modules are introduced in the third year of study and year four is centred on school experience to help develop practical skills in live classroom settings.

The programme coordinator is Susannah Sun.
