Teachers’ Professional Development Centre – News
Since the launch of the “School-Based Inclusive Education Certificate Programme” in 2022, it has served multiple schools and the Education and Youth Development Bureau, with over 500 education professionals having completed the course to date.
The Teacher-sharing Session enabled educators to learn observation, communication, and listening skills through art to understand students’ inner worlds better and to provide support.
Jointly organised by the Diocesan Catholic Education Commission and the Teachers’ Professional Development Centre (TPDC) of USJ, the Certificate Programme in Catholic Leadership in Education 2025 officially commenced on 6 May 2025.
The School of Education at USJ recently invited Dr. Alvis Ka I Sio, a local youth academic and an Assistant Lecturer at the HKU Space Community College in Hong Kong, for an exchange visit.

The “2024/2025 Macao Catholic Schools Association (MCSA) – New Teacher Training Workshop” successfully concluded in December 2024, with 128 teachers from 19 local Catholic schools receiving their certificates.
USJ’s Teachers’ Professional Development Centre co-organizes a teacher-sharing session on supporting students’ physical and mental health titled “Observing the Heart through Art: Listening to Students’ Inner Thoughts.”
The inclusive education school-based training course offered by USJ’s Teachers’ Professional Development Centre commenced at Salesiano School and at Choi Nong Chi Tai School.

The Teachers’ Professional Development Centre’s School-Based Inclusive Education Course for Kao Yip School and Kao Yip Branch School began successfully on June 17th, 2023.
