The Teachers’ Professional Development Centre’s School-Based Inclusive Education Course for Kao Yip School and Kao Yip Branch School began successfully on June 17th, 2023.
The Teachers’ Professional Development Centre’s School-Based Inclusive Education Course for Kao Yip School and Kao Yip Branch School began successfully on June 17th, 2023.
The course will be held on both campuses throughout June and July. Teachers who complete the course are expected to understand the concept of inclusive education and related policies, identify the characteristics and physical and mental needs of different types of special learning needs, explore strategies for supporting students with special needs in the classroom, understand the needs of parents and communication methods, and reflect on their roles and responsibilities in inclusive education.
In addition to Prof. Frances Lai Mui Lee from the School of Education of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), the teaching team of this course also includes USJ visiting academics Dr. Tong Chi Man from Macao, Prof. Ho Fuk Chuen, Dr. Eunice Pui Yu Yim, Dr. Flora Ip, Mr. Daniel Tsui and Ms. Jesmond Fan from Hong Kong (The list of instructors is in no particular order).
