On the first weekend of November (5th and 6th) of 2022, the University of Saint Joseph(USJ) Social Work students participated in the 53rd Caritas Charity Bazaar, a major annual event to raise funds for Caritas Macau to provide essential services to the neediest in society and to raise public awareness for the vulnerable groups in Macau. This year, the USJ Social Work students broke their record by raised almost forty thousand Macanese patacas in proceedings.

For that result, the student leaders express their most profound gratitude for the kind endorsement from the University and Faculty, Generous sponsorships from Jin Long Electrical Supermarket, Papelarias Pok Si, Macau Coca-Cola Beverage Co. Ltd., and We can Learn, and also generous donations from all walks of life.

This year USJ Bazaar booth was led by our social work students. Under support from faculty members, the students developed games to promote gender equality, healthcare and hunger, three of the seventeen sustainable development goals from the United Nations.

For decades, practitioners worldwide in the social work profession have fought for social justice and the dignity and worth of persons to build a better society with services, the importance of human relationships and competence. USJ Social Work students share the same core values and strive to cooperate with local communities to help build a diverse and compassionate society.
