Mr. Chong Kam Leong, Head of the Forensic Informatics Division of the Judiciary Police, was invited to present the Recruitment Talk for USJ Students.

To assist young people in exploring their career paths, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) held a career talk on the 18th March, inviting the Judiciary Police to discuss the recent career development trend. The content included the recruitment details for the Second-Class Criminal Investigator position and the sharing of practical cases, which encouraged the students to reflect on their career choices, goals and life values through providing service to the society.

The event took place at noon at USJ’s Ilha Verde Campus. Mr. Chong Kam Leong, Head of the Forensic Informatics Division of the Judiciary Police, was invited to deliver the talk. He began by engaging students with thought-provoking questions, guiding them to reflect on their potential career paths. Through sharing his personal experiences and real-life cases, he introduced the work content and career prospects at the Judiciary Police. He encouraged young students to choose a career path based on their interests, industry prospects, and other factors.

During the talk, Mr. Chong shared several real-life cases, including the high-profile “Operation Soaring Star2.0,” which targeted credit card fraud and demonstrated the Judiciary Police’s professional capabilities in combating crime. He also highlighted the growing importance of specialised talent in crime prevention due to technological advancements. He called on students from various disciplines, such as information technology, accounting, finance, and business administration, to join the Judiciary Police and contribute to maintaining civil order.

Mr. Chong also provided a detailed explanation of the application process for the posts of Judiciary Police. He gave details about the organisational structure, functions, and exclusive authorities of the department. He explained the entry requirements, selection methods, and scoring system. This comprehensive overview was aimed to help students get better prepared with the necessary knowledge and skills.

The event concluded with an open discussion. Mr. Chong encouraged students to carefully plan their career paths before graduation and actively participate in the Judiciary Police recruitment. He emphasised that a career is not just a stable job but also an opportunity to realize personal value, engage with society, and achieve a sense of purpose and fullfillment in a professional field.

USJ once again expressed its gratitude to the Judiciary Police for sharing valuable career planning advice with the students. For those interested in the Second-Class Criminal Investigator position, please visit the Judiciary Police website at www.pj.gov.mo for more details.
