On May 16, 2024, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) in Macau, China, hosted a riveting webinar presentation as part of the International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU) Centenary celebrations. This fifth episode in a series of webinars highlighted the vibrant world of the USJ Art Gallery, showcasing the university’s commitment to creativity and innovation.

The webinar, presented by Prof. Filipa Martins de Abreu and Prof. Sandra Olga Ng Ka Man, offered an in-depth virtual tour of USJ’s creative projects, providing attendees with a sneak peek into the dynamic and innovative activities taking place at the university. Following the presentation, a lively Q&A session allowed participants to exchange ideas and delve deeper into the topics discussed.

In celebration of the IFCU Centenary (1924-2024), this international exhibition is hosted on a digital portal, enabling global audiences to explore art and artefacts from the collections of four member universities: Seton Hall University (USA), Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (Peru), University of Saint Joseph (Macao, China), and the Museum of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (Poland).

The webinar provided a tantalising glimpse into the university’s gallery, which features contemporary, multidisciplinary exhibitions and installations. These exhibits, divided into four captivating categories—Heritage and Culture, Heritage and Visual Identity, Art and Fabrication, and Virtual Galleries—highlight the seamless integration of traditional artefacts with cutting-edge digital technology, including 3D modelling, rendering, printing, laser cutting, and virtual reality, emphasising the immense collaboration among students and professors across faculties, departments, and areas.

The recorded webinar will be available for streaming on YouTube and LinkedIn, allowing a broader audience to experience this enriching journey through USJ’s artistic and educational innovations.
