USJ signs MOU with Gung Ho Space and jointly run Gung Ho University Start Up base to promote start up programmes focused for Portuguese Speaking Countries on 27th November 2017



USJ delegation led by Professor Vincent Yang, Vice Rector for International Relations, Professor Jose Alves, Dean of USJ School of Business and Emil Marques participated in the MOU signing ceremony between the University of Saint Joseph and the Gung Ho Space located in the Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macau Technology Exhibition and Exchange Center CTIC – San Shan Technology Incubation Park – Building 7th, ground floor, Foshan, Guangdong.

The Gung Ho Space, located in the Nanhai District, Foshan, Guangdong is run by Gung Ho Technology (HK) Limited with its parent Company – Radiant Venture Capital based in Hong Kong. This agreement allows the linking of talent and entrepreneurs from Portuguese Speaking Countries into the Bay area through training and incubation programmes through future USJ initiatives.  This will allow USJ to become a conduit between Portuguese Speaking Countries, via the economic and education platform of Macau, to serve the development of the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area.

In addition, the delegation attended the 2017 Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macao Cooperation Forum – Innovation Cluster of Guangdong – HK – Macao Greater Bay Area organized by the Guangdong government.  Attending the forum as keynote speaker included, Former Chief Executive of HK, Current Vice Chairman of National Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Mr. C.Y. Leung, Secretary General of the Guangdong Provincial Government, Party Secretary of Foshan, National Development and Reform Commission Technology and Innovation Department head, Director for the Office of the Secretary for Finance and Economy of Macao SAR, President of Science and Technology Association of Macao, Dr. Jose Chui and President of Science and Technology Association of Hong Kong, Mr. Duncan Chiu ( our Gung Ho Space Partner) and President of Spatial Science Association of China.

The Forum witnessed the signing of many MOU regarding HK and Macau investments which highlighted the continual integration of the Greater Bay Area in technology development, education and executive training and development.  At present, USJ has partners with physical locations in Foshan, Zhongshan ready to deploy programmes and incubation support for local Macau students and entrepreneurs.  USJ is also ready to serve Portuguese Speaking Countries via our innovation and entrepreneurship network in the Greater Bay Area.
