Vice-Rector Dr. Teresa talks on “Invest in Women - Accelerate Progress”

Macao Water held a talk with parent company SUEZ’s SWAN Committee (Macao) on 7th March 2024. Dr. Teresa Loong, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs of USJ, was invited to deliver a talk on “Invest in Women – Accelerate Progress”.



To celebrate the International Women’s Day, Macao Water held a talk with parent company SUEZ’s SWAN Committee (Macao) on 7th March 2024.

Dr. Teresa Loong, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs of University of Saint Joseph, was invited to deliver a talk on “Invest in Women – Accelerate Progress”, which attracted more than 40 staff members and management of Macao Water to participate.

Ms. Nacky Kuan, Executive Director of Macao Water, extended a heartfelt welcome and expresses gratitude for the presence of Dr. Teresa.

During the talk, Dr. Teresa shared her own experience on a key element of self- investment and summarised her experience and insight on lifelong learning, in order to explore how to step out of one’s comfort zone. At the same time, she pointed out that the key to success in learning lies in acquiring new knowledge from different perspectives. She stated that, apart from formal education, cultivating one’s own interests can also improve personal Growth. 

Regarding the topic related to self-care and well-being, Dr. Teresa emphasised that women’s roles change according to different circumstances. As a mother, she has to take care of her family and, at the same time, balance her work schedule. Exploring one’s own possibilities in the face of different challenges is the first step to taking a positive step forward. She encourages women to invest and develop their potential, to care for themselves, and to recognise their own value.

At the end of the event, Dr. Teresa also provided the latest information on the university’s programmes and offered a variety of study paths for the participants to consider. Ms. Angel Cheong, Director of Administration & Human Resources Department at Suez, presented a bouquet of flowers and commemorative gifts to Dr. Teresa.
