The 2025 Doctoral Seminar marked a remarkable conclusion to the academic year, showcasing the achievements of the Spring admission Cohort students.



What a fantastic close to the academic year!

The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Doctoral School hosted the Seminar on the Impact of AI on Research on Friday, 13 June 2025, at the USJ Ilha Verde Campus. This Seminar marked a remarkable conclusion to the academic year, showcasing the achievements of the Spring admission Cohort students.

The seminar featured presentations from all participating doctoral candidates, culminating in a panel discussion titled “Navigating the Future: AI’s Impact on Research”. The panel comprised USJ’s Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Prof. Alexandre Lobo; Head of Research at the United Nations University of Macau Prof. Serge Stinckwich, and Prof. Roberto Martins from the Universidade Federal de São Carlos, Brazil. This significant event highlighted our dedication to fostering understanding among students and supervisors regarding the responsible and ethical use of AI.

Following the seminar, attendees gathered for the Doc Dinner, providing an excellent networking opportunities for both students and supervisors, and to continue discussions from the day’s events and strengthen the bonds within the academic community.
