USJ organised a guided tour for its alumni and their families to the Fire Museum in downtown on the 6th of May 2023.

In the morning on the 6th of May 2023, the University of Saint Joseph Macao (USJ) organised a guided tour for its alumni and their families to the Fire Services Museum and Central Operation Station in downtown.  The participants learnt a lot about the history of the Fire Station and the evolution of firefighting technology.

The guided tour began with a tour of the Fire Services Museum, where the alumni and their families were given a detailed history of the Fire Station since the 19th century.  They were shown the historical Dennis fire engines, which were used in the early 20th century for firefighting in the city.

The visitors were also educated on fire prevention and escape techniques by a firefighter, who demonstrated their knowledge and expertise on the subject.  The firefighter explained some tips of the emergency escape in case of a fire.

The highlight of the tour was when the children were given the opportunity to try out the newest fire trucks at the Central Operation Station.  The children were thrilled to climb aboard the fire trucks, and the firefighters were happy to show them how the fire trucks work and the equipment they use to fight fires.

The alumni and their families left the Fire Museum with a newfound appreciation for the brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day to protect our community.  They also left with a better understanding of the importance of fire prevention and the need for emergency preparedness.

The University hopes to organise more alumni activities in the future, to help its alumni and their families better understand the city and reunite us in different ways.
