Prof. Nuno Soares, Head of the Department of Architecture and Design of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, was the Keynote Speaker at “Towards a Living Waterfront Conference – Urban Strategies and Conceptual Designs for Macau”.



Prof. Nuno Soares, Head of the Department of Architecture and Design of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, was the Keynote Speaker at “Towards a Living Waterfront Conference – Urban Strategies and Conceptual Designs for Macau”, which took place on 9 December 2023, at Ponte 9 – Creative Platform.

The Conference gathered a respected lineup of speakers and moderators, among them Prof. Filipe Afonso, Programme Supervisor of the Bachelor of Architectural Studies at USJ, and invited all participants to think both critically and creatively about Macau’s urban fabric under the new Macau Master Plan and within the Greater Bay Area Plan.

Prof. Álvaro Barbosa, Vice-Rector of USJ, and Prof. Carlos Sena Caires, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of USJ, were present during the Conference event which was followed by the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the exhibitions displaying the outcomes of the 6-year collaboration between CURB and the School of Architecture of CUHK, attended by, among others, the Rev’d Prof. Stephen Morgan, Rector of USJ.
