The Bachelor of Communication and Media (BCM) community closed the academic year on a high note – literally – with an unforgettable rooftop party!

The Bachelor of Communication and Media (BCM) community closed the academic year on a high note – literally – with an unforgettable rooftop party that brought together students, alumni, and faculty for an evening of celebration, connection, and well-deserved relaxation.

Organised by the Office for Students and Alumni Affairs (OSAA) , sponsored by the Macao Foundation and in collaboration with the Media, Art and Technology Department (MAT) of the USJ Faculty of Arts and Humanities, the event marked a milestone: it was the first-ever party held on the rooftop garden of USJ’s Green Campus in its eight-year history. The serene Japanese-inspired setting provided the perfect backdrop for a vibrant evening on 16 May, where laughter, music, and the smell of pizza filled the air.

The celebration was a heartfelt tribute to the hard work, resilience, and dedication of BCM students throughout the academic year. The event brought together current students, alumni, and professors in a relaxed atmosphere where conversations flowed freely, ideas were exchanged, and connections were deepened.

The night’s festivities included music, a lucky draw, and more! Excitement peaked during the prize giveaway, with students winning Dining + Movie vouchers at Lisboeta and the grand prize of Double Tickets to Studio City’s Water Park. A special moment came with the announcement of the BCM T-shirt 2025 Edition Design Contest winner: Year 2 student Joshua Añover took home the prize for his winning design – a dining voucher at the 360° Restaurant in the Macao Tower.

Beyond the prizes and pizza, the gathering reflected the spirit of the BCM programme: a blend of creativity, community, and forward-thinking. It offered students a chance to unwind, recharge, and connect with mentors and industry voices, while reinforcing the strong bond that unites the BCM family across graduating classes.

This rooftop celebration wasn’t just a party – it was a symbol of growth, gratitude, and the vibrant future ahead. For many, it was a night to remember and the beginning of a new tradition at USJ. Closer to the sky!
