FBL's Dr Ivan Arraut gives Talk at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology's "Seminar on Pure Mathematics"

Prof. Ivan Arraut of the USJ’s Faculty of Business and Law, delivered a presentation in the ‘Seminar on Pure Mathematics’ at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology about “Mathematical aspects of gauge theories and applications to different scenarios”.
Dr. Ivan Arraut, Assistant Professor at the USJ Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) delivered a presentation on “Mathematical aspects of gauge theories and applications to different scenarios” at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) on a Seminar organised by its Department of Mathematics on 23 November 2023.
During the Talk, Dr. Arraut explained some Mathematical aspects and basic issues about gauge theories, showing interesting connections between gauge theories and the Quantum Yang Baxter Equations inside the scenario of the 2D Ising model. Imposing local (gauge) symmetries in the past brought important discoveries like the unification of interactions or the equivalence of different equations which seemed to be originally different.
Part of the Talk included content of one of his most recent papers “Gauge symmetries and the Higgs mechanism in Quantum Finance”, 2023 EPL 143 42001.
