FBL graduate students learnt sustainable business projects at the first Masters' Talk series

FBL is organising a monthly Masters’ Talk series for graduate student, the first of the series was on 27 October 2022, invited industry experts shared their organisations’ sustainability and philanthropic projects.



To develop a platform where knowledge, practice, and research meets, the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) is organising a monthly Masters’ Talk series for their graduate students at the end of each month. The first of the series was held last Thursday, 27 October 2022, and industry experts shared their organisations’ sustainability and philanthropic projects.

At the first FBL Masters Talk series, Prof. Alexandre Lobo introduced the Faculty’s Laboratory for Applied Neuroscience (LAN) and shared past research by the MBA and DBA students utilizing the lab. Then two local entrepreneurs were invited to share their experiences of their entrepreneurial endeavours.

Ms. Mary Mendosa, Founder and Managing Director of The Platinum Ltd., shared her experiences working in Marketing and Events for international resorts in different places. She also shared with FBL students her experience setting up her marketing consultancy, Platinum Ltd., and her company’s philanthropic work to support education in Cambodia.

The FBL also invited social entrepreneur Mr. Terence Lee, Founder of sustancia.org. A platform for sustainable solutions. Mr Lee shared the work of sustancia.org, the projects they have been involved in alternative financing their organisation has adopted to make their social innovation endeavours possible.

This event also created an informal environment for graduate students of FBL from a different programmes to socialise and discuss potential research projects with different professors at the FBL.

The next FBL Masters Talk is scheduled for 26 November 2022, the last Friday of the month. In the November Masters Talk, the FBL invites experts to share business and employment opportunities in the GBA. And faculty members will share selected previous Master’s dissertations topics in the areas of Organisational Behaviour with the graduate students.
