Students of year 2 Education and Social Work programmes enrolled in the Life and Science module took on the role of environmental scientists at the Macao Green Week.

During the recent Macao Green Week event held on March 18 and 19, the students of year 2 Education and Social Work programmes took on the role of environmental scientists. These students were enrolled in the Life and Science module under the guidance of Prof. Karen Tagulao and were given a chance to put their classroom knowledge into practice by participating in the event. Despite not being science majors, the students were tasked with learning about the environment and its impact on daily life as part of their coursework.

During the event, the students were paired with experienced scientists and assigned to specific stations at the Institute of Science and Environment’s (ISE) booths, where they interacted with visitors and shared their newfound knowledge. This activity allowed them to engage with the public, improve their communication skills,  further their understanding of environmental issues, and apply their teaching and social work skills to promote environmental education.
