The University of Saint Joseph’s (USJ) International Cultural Carnival 2026 took place on Saturday, 14 March 2026, at its Ilha Verde Campus, turning it into a vibrant global village.
The gathering brought together current PGDE students and distinguished alumni for a casual and interactive afternoon filled with meaningful reconnection and professional exchange.
This project is a major interdisciplinary collaboration between the University Library, the Department of Media, Art, and Technology (FAH), and the Institute of Science and Environment (ISE). It is also a key outcome of USJ’s Mangrove Research Project sponsored by the “Drop by Drop” project of Sands China.
Associate Professor Rochelle Ge from the School of Education concluded a four-day visit to San Beda College in Manila, Philippines, which resulted in an official signing of the new agreement for academic collaboration between both institutions.
IDEAS Prof. Ivan Arraut, delivered a presentation at the “2nd Hokkaido Workshop on Particle Physics at Crossroads”.
Since 2023, USJ Macao has been committed to participating in FUTURÁLIA, setting up an independent booth for three consecutive years.

The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao and the Instituto Superior de Educação e Ciências (ISEC) in Lisbon, Portugal, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote academic and scientific cooperation.
The collaboration involves establishing a student admission scheme at USJ for graduating CDSJ6 students.
Prof. Thomas Lei, Chair of the ISE Scientific Council at the Institute of Science and Environment (ISE), visited Guangzhou City University of Technology (GCUT) for meetings and discussions on further collaborations.

Emil Ip Chi Hang has successfully defended his doctoral thesis in Business Administration titled: “INFLUENCE OF INSTITUTIONAL FORCES ON OPEN INNOVATION PROCESSES IN SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (SMEs) FROM THE GUANGDONG, HONG KONG, MACAO GREATER BAY AREA (GBA) – INDEPTH ANALYSIS AND FRAMEWORK PROPOSITION“.
