About the Talk:
The Myanmar higher education sector has undergone various shifts across different eras. A deep dive into the stakeholders and influences that have shaped educational policies and opportunities in the country, we are invited to reflect on the milestones and reforms that built the current higher education environment and the socio-economic setbacks and challenges students face to access quality education internationally.
Through contemplating on these changes and understanding of education demands, the talk aims to contribute to the ongoing discourse on improving educational outcomes for Myanmar students in a rapidly changing global context, introducing recommendations to diminish barriers and predictions for future developments in the study abroad spectrum.
About Myanmar Study Abroad:
About the Speakers: Representatives from the Myanmar Study Abroad will be presenting on the topic. The Myanmar Study Abroad, through its Center for Academic Advising and University Preparation, was founded to support and empower potential young leaders from marginalised communities in Myanmar. The primary mission of the organisation is to facilitate access to global higher education opportunities, offering Myanmar students the chance to further their academic and personal development in an international context.
Beyond helping students pursue higher education, the organisation aims to nurture the next generation of leaders from Myanmar who are equipped to create meaningful change in their communities. Through academic advising, scholarship facilitation, and preparation for international education, a collaborative community and sustainable network of young professionals is built to support each other’s work and contribute to the social and economic development of Myanmar in the long run.
