Course Description:
This pipe organ course offers long-term training through one-on-one weekly instruction, with a “module-based” structure to ensure that students can learn according to their personal goals and pace. Each module consists of 12 weeks, with personalized learning objectives and weekly course assignments. Students may enroll continuously or intermittently depending on their needs. There are no restrictions on background, profession, or qualifications for enrollment, anyone interested in learning the pipe organ is welcome to apply.
Course Objective:
- To establish solid manual and pedal techniques.
- To learn organ repertoire from different musical periods and styles: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Modern, etc.
- To prepare for performances, exams, or competitions.
- To improve confidence, including stage presence, practice strategies, and psychological preparation.
- Students who wish to study for leisure or personal interest can also enjoy a gradual and rewarding learning experience.
Course Structure:
The course is structured into three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced, with four learning directions (modules) for students to choose from. Interested applicants are required to submit a piano or organ performance excerpt during the enrollment process, enabling the instructor to assess their skill level and recommend an appropriate learning module.
Each module consists of 12 weeks, one session per week, four sessions per term. The module options are as follows:
- Group A: Fundamental Organ Techniques (12 weeks, 12 lessons)
- Group B: Intermediate Organ Repertoire Study (12 weeks, 12 lessons)
- Group C: Hymn Accompaniment (12 weeks, 12 lessons)
- Group D: Organ Repertoire Coaching (flexible, may be repeated) (12 weeks, 12 lessons)
Certificate:
- Organ Study Certificate (Beginner Level) – Complete any 2 modules and final performance evaluation or submission of recorded performance
- Organ Study Certificate (Intermediate Level) – Complete any 4 modules and performance recital or instructor review
- Organ Study Certificate (Advanced Level) – Complete any 6 modules and performance recital or instructor review

WONG Kar Hei Olga (Olga Wong) has performed extensively as an organist and pianist, appeared in numerous recitals, collaborative performances, and festivals across the United States, Asia, and Europe. Her repertoire spans from early music to contemporary compositions. Apart from performing, she has served as an adjudicator, instructor, and presenter. Most recently, she served as an organ instructor for the 2024 Summer Organ Academy organized by the American Guild of Organists (Hong Kong Chapter).
Currently, Olga is the Director of Sacred Music at Holy Trinity Seminary in Dallas, Texas, where she directs the Scholae Cantorum and teaches Gregorian chant, the sacred tradition of the Catholic Church. She also serves as the seminary’s organist, providing music for the daily liturgies and foster a deep appreciation for the liturgical arts among seminarians.
Olga is in the final stages of completing a Performer’s Diploma in Organ Performance at Southern Methodist University under the tutelage of Stefan Engels. She holds a Master of Music in Organ Performance from the University of Houston and a Master of Music in Piano Performance from Stephen F. Austin State University. A native of Hong Kong, she completed her undergraduate studies with First Class Honours at Hong Kong Baptist University.
HOW TO APPLY
A three-step flow of “Registration, Notification, Enrolment” applies.
Applicants should first register (through methods listed in the “Registration” section on our website) during the application period of a Programme. Accepted Registrants will be notified through SMS and they must complete the application process in person during the period mentioned in the SMS, with a valid copy of Macao Resident ID Card.
Withdrawal applications must follow stated policies.
Remark: Programmes may be cancelled due to insufficient registration.
