The “Digital Organ Application Course for Catholic Liturgical Organ Playing”, jointly organised by the University of Saint Joseph and Catholic Institute of Theology in Macao, CITM, and co-organised by St. Lawrence’s Church, has concluded successfully.
The “Digital Organ Application Course for Catholic Liturgical Organ Playing”, jointly organised by the Faculty of Religious Studies and Philosophy (FRSP) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), Executive Training and Lifelong Learning Office (ETLLO), the Catholic Institute of Theology in Macao, CITM, and co-organised by St. Lawrence’s Church, has concluded successfully. The course attracted numerous music enthusiasts and received an enthusiastic response.
The course specially invites the distinguished organist and pianist Ms Olga Wong to serve as lecturer, teaching the fundamentals and performance techniques of playing the electronic organ within Catholic liturgy. It aims to provide foundational training for those interested in learning the organ, familiarising participants with the operation of the electronic organ, and fostering an understanding of the accompaniment style for hymns from the Hymnbook.
To conclude the course, the organisers specially arranged a recital featuring the students’ compositions. Participants took turns to perform, showcasing their learning achievements and bringing this course to a perfect ending.
