Prof. Nuno Soares, Head of the Department of Architecture and Design of the USJ Faculty of Arts and Humanities, has been elected General Secretary of CIALP (Conselho Internacional dos Arquitectos de Língua Portuguesa) for a period of three years (2023 to 2026).
Prof. Nuno Soares, Head of the Department of Architecture and Design of the USJ Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH), has been elected General Secretary of CIALP (Conselho Internacional dos Arquitectos de Língua Portuguesa) for a period of three years (2023 to 2026) at the CIALP General Assembly, which took place during the 25th Council Meeting at Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, on November 17, 2023.
Prof. Nuno Soares, in representation of the Architects Association of Macau (AAM), has been actively involved with CIALP since 2009. He is currently the Coordinator of the Cities and Heritage Working Group and was previously a member of the Supervisory Board from 2019 to 2023.

CIALP serves as a platform for more than 250,000 Portuguese-speaking architects, represented by the Professional Associations delegates of the respective countries and territories, a universe that englobes around 250 million Portuguese-speaking persons. Its members are spread around four continents, in nine countries and territories, namely Angola, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Goa, Guinea-Bissau, Macau, Mozambique, Portugal, and São Tomé and Príncipe, with the Architects Association of Macau (AAM) representing Macau.
The new Board for 2023–2026 is composed of:

CIALP is an institutional partner of the International Union of Architects (UIA) and an advisory observer of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP).
