The University of Saint Joseph welcomed a visit of the Vice-President for International Affairs of Sogang Univeristy, Professor Seil Oh, S.J., on 15 January.



The Vice-President of International Affairs of Sogang University in South Korea, Professor Seil Oh, S.J., visited the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao from 15 to 16 January, 2024.

During his visit, he met with USJ’s Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs, Professor Álvaro Barbosa, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Professor Carlos Caires, and Manager of the International Affairs Office, Mrs. Ana Paula Mota, where they discussed ways to strengthen the cooperation between both institutions in the areas of Arts and Humanities, Religious Studies, Business Administration, likewise exploring the possibilities for USJ students to join the Sogang International Summer Programme, which will take place from 24 June – 19 July, 2024, at Sogang University, in Sinsu-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea.

As a part of the ongoing partnership between USJ and Sogang University, the parties focused on starting the collaboration with USJ’s Faculty of Religious Studies and Faculty of Arts and Humanities, considering that the first initiative will be the Faculty lectureship Programme on a reciprocal basis and the Sogang International Summer Programme, USJ students will have a partner discount on the tuition fees. 

The Sogang International Summer Programme allows students to take academic courses and interact with the Sogang student community through buddy and club activities after classes from Monday to Thursday. As the Sogang campus is located in the central part of downtown Seoul and close to subway stations and bus stops, it makes it convenient for international students to move around the city and explore the country’s culture and gastronomy.
