USJ Students Excel in Macao-Wide English Essay Competition 2024

University of Saint Joseph’s Undergraduates are winners at the 2024 3rd Macao-wide English Essay Competition.



The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) is proud to announce the outstanding achievements of its undergraduate students in the recently concluded 3rd Macao-Wide English Essay Competition. Second-year student Du Wen Feng from USJ, emerged as the winner of the College category. Du’s essay captivated judges with its eloquence and heartfelt reflections on the connection between nature and personal experiences. Four other talented undergraduate USJ students including Alidoro Chenda, Junhui Cho, Lou Pui Lam, and Jaden Ravindran, received Honorable Mention recognition. The remarkable success of USJ’s students not only highlights their exceptional writing skills but also positions the university as a leading institution in fostering academic excellence.

The theme of this year’s competition was “Nature and Me,” challenging participants to explore the profound connection between humanity and the natural world. The winning essays from USJ students demonstrated a deep understanding of the topic, displaying exceptional language proficiency.

To celebrate the remarkable achievements of these talented individuals, an awarding ceremony will be held on 16 March at the Macao Science Centre with the publication of a book that includes the winning entries.
