USJ Members and friends volunteered at the Mother’s Meal activity to aid those most needy from more underprivileged communities in Macao.



On November 13, 2021, members and friends of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) volunteered at the Mother’s Meal activity to observe the Fifth World Day of the Poor, declared by Pope Francis.

The Mother’s Meal activity intends to aid those most needy from more underprivileged communities in Macao, consequently supporting the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goal 1: No Poverty and Goal 2: Zero Hunger.

The activity began with a morning Holy Eucharistic presided by Reverend Father Jijo Kandamkulathy CMF and concelebrated by Reverend Father Mario Bonfaini CMF, at the Saint Joseph the Worker Church, followed by the distribution of food and other necessities to around 70 individuals and families in need.

Participants of this event include Bella Chan (Bachelor of Social Work); members of the Office for Students and Alumni Affairs (OSAA), Ms Teresa Loong, Ms Lydia Tong and Mr Ben Lei; and two USJ friends Yen and Luisa.

The activity was organised by Clarentian Congregation of MissionariesMother’s Meal, and co-organised by Candle Light Macau
