The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) welcomed a delegation from Daegu Haany University (DHU), South Korea, for a courtesy visit on the 9th of January.
The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) welcomed a delegation from Daegu Haany University (DHU), South Korea, for a courtesy visit on 9 January. The delegation was led by Professor Byun Chang-Hoon, PhD, President of DHU, and included Professor Song Jichung, Head of the International Office, and Ms. Jeon Sora, Staff of the K-Medi Silk Road Center.
USJ was represented by Dr. Alejandro Salcedo, Vice-Rector for Administrative Affairs and Acting Rector, alongside Professor Zhang Shuguang, Vice-Rector for External Affairs and Institutional Development; Professor Zhiming Cai, Head of the Institutional Development Office; and Ms. Paula Mota, Head of the International Affairs Office.
During the meeting, both institutions explored collaborative opportunities in areas of mutual academic interest. Professor Byun expressed appreciation for USJ’s openness and constructive approach to fostering international partnerships in the Portuguese-speaking countries.
Professor Zhang outlined USJ’s strategic initiatives and commitment in ageing-related fields, including smart elderly healthcare laboratory, community health projects, lifelong learning, cellular nutrition and longevity research.
The discussion highlighted potential collaboration between both institutions in the near future.
