USJ and Judicial Police Department Jointly Delivered a Seminar on Prevention of Sex Offences and Sexual Harassment on 20th November 2017



On 20th November 2017, the University of Saint Joseph and the Judicial Police Department jointly organised a seminar on the prevention of sex offences and sexual harassment. Two police representatives, Mr. Zhang Jianfeng, Principal Investigator, and Ms. Sun Wengsi from Office of Community Relations, introduced the crime reporting services of the Judicial Police Department that is available to educational institutions, staff and students in Macau. Together with Vice Rector of USJ, Prof. Vincent Cheng Yang, they explained the amended provisions of sex offences under the Criminal Code of Macau, including rape, sexual coercion and the new offence of sexual harassment. Vice Rector Yang also introduced the 2015 USJ’s Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy which was the first ever such a policy in Macau and the Framework Policy on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment adopted by the Committee of Higher Education Institutions in Macau for the Promotion of Gender Equity. During the seminar, USJ professors, staff and students actively participated in the discussion of the law and policies.
