USJ and Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand,  (SWU) established a formal Cooperation Agreement further strengthening the institutional relationship.



The University of Saint Joseph (USJ), Macao, and Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand,  (SWU) established a formal Cooperation Agreement, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), further strengthening the institutional relationship established during the visit of a SWU delegation to USJ earlier this academic year.

The signing ceremony took place at Srinakharinwirot University and was attended by representatives from both institutions. The USJ delegation included Prof. Álvaro Barbosa, Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs; Prof. Alessandro Lampo, Head of the Department of Business Studies of the Faculty of Business and Law; and Mr. Paulo Albuquerque from the International Affairs Office.

During the official signing ceremony, Prof. Álvaro Barbosa, Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs of USJ, and Professor Dr. Cholwit Chiarajit, Rector of Srinakharinwirot University, reaffirmed their institutions’ commitment to fostering meaningful academic collaboration and enhancing opportunities for international engagement.

The agreement marks a significant step forward in developing joint initiatives following the fruitful discussions held during the SWU delegation’s visit to USJ. During the meeting, both institutions highlighted their shared commitment to broadening international learning opportunities and strengthening intercultural dialogue through higher education.

Representatives from the two universities also discussed several areas of mutual interest, including student and staff mobility, collaborative research activities, short-term academic programmes, and other initiatives aimed at enriching the educational experience of their respective academic communities.

The signing of the MoU provides a structured framework for future cooperation and reflects the shared vision of both institutions to promote academic excellence, internationalisation, and global citizenship.

With this agreement, USJ continues to expand its international network of partnerships. The USJ Internationalization strategy supports its educational mission and create new opportunities for students, faculty, and researchers to engage in meaningful international collaboration.
