USJ and Hochschule Mainz University of Applied Science Explore Expansion of Partnership in Business

A USJ Delegation visited Hochschule Mainz on 8-9 January to explore further cooperation between both institutions in the area of Business Administration, including dual degree for the MBA programme, collaboration in innovation and entrepreneurship, and joint research.



A delegation from the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) in Macao, led by the Vice Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs, Professor Álvaro Barbosa, and Associate Professor Alexandre Lobo, Head of the Department of Business Administration at the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL), recently visited Hochschule Mainz University of Applied Sciences in Mainz, Germany.

As part of an ongoing partnership between USJ and Hochschule Mainz, established in 2020 with an agreement between the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at USJ and the Faculty of Design at Hochschule Mainz, the delegation discussed the potential for expanding collaboration in the area of Business during a meeting held with the President of Hochschule Mainz Prof. Dr, Susanne Weissman, Vice-President Prof. Dr. Anett Mehler-Bicher, Head of the International Office Mr. Gabriel Belinga Belinga, Prof. Dr. Markus Hehn of the School of Business and Program Director of the Master of International Business of the School of Business Prof. Dr. Daniel Porath.

The discussion focused on student and faculty exchange programmes, the establishment of dual degrees for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme, and the development of innovation and entrepreneurship through the FBL Greater Bay Area Network and the Macau Spin Incubator. Joint research projects, with a focus on environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues and start-up financing, were also on the agenda.

This visit reflects the commitment of both partners to promote international cooperation and academic excellence. Both institutions aim to provide their students and faculty with unique opportunities for growth, learning and professional development in the dynamic field of business.
