The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) held its annual Career Fair on February 21, with this year’s theme being “Taking the Chance of Recovery – Entering the Workforce of the Career Opportunity”.

This year, the University of Saint Joseph held its USJ Career Fair on the 21st of February, 2023, open to all its students, alumni and general public. The USJ Career Fair has been serving as a platform for students to seek job opportunities and explore their career paths. The theme of this year’s career fair is — Taking the Chance of Recovery – Entering the Workforce of the Career Opportunity.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Reverend Prof. Stephen Morgan, Rector of USJ; Mr. Carlos Roberto Xavier, Director of The Higher Education Affairs Department of the Education and Youth Development Bureau; Mr. Peng Jin Gang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Youth Federation of Nansha District, Guangzhou, and Mr. Kuong Chi Fong, Vice Chair of the Executive Council, Macau Federation of Trade Unions. The ceremony was attended by prestigious guests of various companies, along with the Vice-Rectors, Deans and the Academic staff of USJ.

More than 30 enterprises, companies, and organisations participated in the Fair, offering over 1 thousand job vacancies in the areas of banking and finance, education and training, food and beverage, hospitality, human resource, real estate, property management, telecommunications, transportation and logistics, and social services.

Over 600 students will graduate this year and the USJ Career Fair provides them with a face-to-face platform, assisting them, along with USJ alumni and the general public, in reaching out to potential employers. The Career Fair offered the participants a direct path to find and apply for their desired jobs, submit their CV, and request consultation from employers present. The employers also shared the companies’/organisations’ information and details of job vacancies through exhibition booths and invite candidates to join interviews.

To enable the participants to gain more insights on job opportunities and career potential, three career talks was held, with topics on job-seeking tips, modern finance and education. This event is sponsored by Macao Foundation.
