The USJ Laboratory of Applied Neurosciences team participated the ICEME 2022

The LAN/USJ team participated at the ICEME 2022 on 16 to 18 July, 2022.



The Laboratory of Applied Neurosciences(LAN) team of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) participated the The 2022 13th International Conference on E-business, Management and Economics (ICEME 2022), on 16 to 18 July, 2022. The Conference was held by the Beijing University of Technology and had face to face and online sessions.

The head of the LAN/USJ, Prof. Alexandre Lobo, was a Keynote Speaker on the conference with the topic “Neuroeconomics Applications based on Multiple Monitoring Tools”, which is an overview of the challenges and trends of the recently created lab. In addition, four research papers from the research team were presented.

Our Lab Member, Andreia Neto, who is also a Visiting Academic of the Department of Business Administration at USJ, presented very interesting results from her MBA research in a paper called “The Future of Cosmetics Advertising Strategy: a neuromarketing study using Electrodermal Activity (EDA) as a Measure of Emotional”.  Andreia received the Best Oral Session Presentation Award.

Thea Tagulao, MBA graduate and current PhD student at USJ, presented the work: “The Application of Nudge Theory in Ensuring Change in the Hospitality-Gaming Industry”, while Professor Sérgio Gomes, Senior Lecturer and PhD Candidate at USJ presented the work “Intersectoral Linkages in Booming Sector Economies – a case study of Macao”.

Finally, our PhD Candidate, Patrick Lai Chi Meng received the Best Conference Paper Award, a major achievement for our research team, with the work “Investigation on Citizen Trust towards E-government Services in GBA – A study on Wechat and Alipay Government Service Mini-programs”.
