On the 15th March 2025, the School of Education (SED) at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao hosted a lecture entitled “The Future of Learning: Transforming Physical Education with Extended Reality (XR)”. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Naoki SUZUKI, Associate Professor at Tokyo Gakugei University, and moderated by Prof. Hao WU, Assistant Professor and Research Coordinator of the School of Education.

Prof. Suzuki, a leading expert on the integration of technology in physical and health education, captivated the audience with his insights. He discussed how Extended Reality (XR), including Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), is revolutionising education. XR creates realistic sports training experiences, connects students worldwide through the metaverse for collaborative learning, and engages students with special educational needs to participate in sports despite their limitations. He also demonstrated how XR can be applied to different subjects to improve learning for everyone.
