Prof. Ivan Arraut from USJ/IDEAS) delivered a seminar at the Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica in Taipei, about his recent findings on black hole evaporation as a mechanism of spontaneous symmetry breaking.
Prof. Ivan Arraut from the Institute of Data Engineering and Science (IDEAS) at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) delivered a specialised seminar at the Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica in Taipei, earlier this month, presenting his recent findings on black hole evaporation as a mechanism of spontaneous symmetry breaking.
The talk drew an expert audience of professors, postdoctoral researchers, and Ph.D. students. Prof. Arraut demonstrated that the evaporation process of black holes can be modelled as mechanisms similar to those appearing in condensed matter systems, generating quantum phase transitions. He argued that this novel approach holds the potential to resolve the longstanding black hole information paradox.
