18 USJ doctoral students attended a seminar on Integrative Research in Psychology on 28 February, delivered by the faculty members of the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Health Sciences.

Last month, USJ doctoral students attended a seminar on Integrative Research in Psychology organised by the Department of Psychology (DPY) of the Faculty of Health Sciences.

The seminar commenced with Prof. Vitor Teixeira, Head of the DPY, who presented an interesting overview of the development of research in psychology as a discipline of Science. His sharing on the postmodern view on science as well as the reciprocal relationship between the application of science and the development of science inspired critical thinking among all.

Sharing on qualitative study in counselling psychology, and a selected example of quantitative research in organisational psychology, were given by Prof. Edward Kwan and Prof. Maria Rita Silva respectively.

The seminar was concluded by Ms Cynthia Leong, Senior Lecturer of DPY, with her personal experience on her journey towards a doctoral dissertation. Her tips were found to be very useful by the students in pursuing their doctoral studies. The seminar was a success, providing a fruitful opportunity for exchange and interaction for all participants and speakers.
