Dean of USJ’s School of Education participated in the Rehabilitation International Asia & Pacific Regional Conference in June 2019



The Dean of USJ’s School of Education (SED), ProfAna Correia, and Prof. Carrie Ho (SED) participated in the Rehabilitation International Asia & Pacific Regional Conference 2019, on 26-28 of June, 2019, at The Venetian Macao.
Professor Ana Correia participated in the Plenary Panel on “Inclusive School and University Education”. Among the panel members were the Deputy Director of Macao Government’s Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (Direcção dos Serviços de Educação e Juventude – DSEJ), Ms. Vai Kei Leong, and Prof. Kenneth Sin, Director of the Centre for Special Educational Needs and Inclusive Education at The Education University of Hong Kong. Prof. Carrie Ho presented in a Community-based Project Session for the Fuhong Society of Macao commissioned project “A case study on evidence-based strategies for creating meaningful supports for adults with disabilities through arts”.
The theme of the conference was “Together leaving no one behind in disability inclusive and rights-based progress”. The Rehabilitation International Asia and Pacific Regional Conference involved around 1000 participants from many countries of the Asia-Pacific region. Rehabilitation International (RI Global) is a worldwide organisation comprised of people with disabilities, service providers, government agencies, academics, researchers and advocates working to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities.
