On 26th September, the main English channel of China’s state radio station, China Radio International, interviewed Prof. Vincent C. Yang, Vice Rector of USJ and Chair Professor of International Law, regarding President Xi Jinping’s keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 86th International Police Organization General Assembly in Beijing on that day. Prof. Yang answered the anchor’s questions about what President Xi was referring to when he talked about the need in improving global security governance and upholding the rule of law in implementing international law in combating terrorism and corruption. He also answered questions about Interpol’s roles in fighting transnational crimes and China’s contribution to Interpol. The four important suggestions President Xi proposed in his speech, Prof. Yang said, are indications of strong support the Chinese government to Interpol, which aims at enhancing cooperation in law enforcement against international terrorism, corruption and organized crime.
