Dr. João Francisco Pinto will share his experiences as a media professional and explore the critical role of the media during times of war on the 23rd January, in Artyzen Grand Lapa.
About the Talk:
The media has always had a special relationship with wars and armed conflicts. Journalists are trained to look for conflict and find wars irresistible. But journalists also have a role to play in peace-building. Dr. João Francisco Pinto will share his experiences as a media professional and explore the critical role of the media during times of war.
About the Speaker:
Mr. JOÃO FRANCISCO PINTO
Rotary Club Deputy District Secretary – Mongolia Affairs.
He is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Macau (20/21 and 23/24) and currently serves as Deputy District Secretary – Mongolia Affairs. As a media profession-al, he has worked within Rotary on projects of media literacy projects and, more recently, on the role of the media in times of war. He is also a member of the District 3450 Public Image Committee. João Francisco Pinto holds a degree in economics and has worked as a journalist for more than three decades including his former role as TDM’s Portuguese & English News and Program Controller.
