This year’s Faculty Day 2025 under the theme “Partnership for the Goals”, organised by year 4 Bachelors of Business Administration students and academic staff members of the Faculty of Business and Law, will take place on Friday, 28th March 2025.



To uphold the mission of the University of Saint Joseph in the cultivation of interdisciplinary talent and promote interaction between students, faculty and the community, the Faculty of Business and Law continues the tradition to celebrate student action learning by hosting an annual “Faculty Day” led by our Year 4 Business Administration students.

This year, the theme is “Partnerships for the Goals!“. Partnerships have been the cornerstone of Macao SAR’s sustainable growth.  To celebrate this partnership for sustainable development, we have partnered with Oxfam Macau to invite speakers from the Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao Greater Bay Area to share various forms of partnerships to enable economic diversity and ESG in the region.

Programme Highlights:

“Urban renewal project for Hotel Central”

Speaker: Founder and Chairman of Lek Hang Group and owner of Hotel Central – Mr. Sio Chong Meng

Mr. Sio Chong Meng (Simon), the founder and current Chairman of Lek Hang Group, was born and raised in the heart of Macau’s Avenida Almeida Ribeiro.

As a child, living opposite the Hotel Central, he witnessed the transformation of the historic district from the former commercial centre of Macau to the disappearance of the historic district. His deep childhood memories have made Mr. Sio always concerned about the revitalisation and development of the The Historic Centre of Macau when he grew up, and he believes that the The Historic Centre of Macau is the jewel of Macau and that there are many historical deposits in the Inner Harbour and the surrounding area that should be excavated and displayed for the public and tourists to understand and appreciate.


“AI simulations and synthetic data towards inclusive economic growth and the UN SDGs”

Speakers: Dr. Georgina Curto Rex and Dr. Ronald Musizvingoza (International NGO perspective)

Dr. Georgina Curto Rex is a Senior AI Researcher and Team Lead at the United Nations University Institute in Macau. Previously, she was an Assistant Research Professor at the Lucy Family Institute for Data and Society and a Postdoc at the ND-IBM Technology Ethics Lab, University of Notre Dame.

Focusing on issues of poverty mitigation, fairness and inclusion, she works on the design of AI socio-technical systems that provide new insights to counteract inequality, and more broadly, to advance interdisciplinary research towards the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Ronald Musizvingoza is a Social Scientist and Researcher at UNU Macau, whose work falls at the intersection of gender equality (SDG5), health, and well-being (SDG3) and digital technology.


“Introduction of Wofoo Social Enterprises and Exploring Successful Collaborations of Hong Kong Social Enterprises Driving Impactful Partnerships”

Speakers: Mr. Leo Chan, MH – Chairman of Wofoo S.I.T.E. (Social Innovation Through Entrepreneurship), and Mr. Leo Chan, MHMr. Nathan Hui Founder and Director, Medmind Technology Limited

Leo Chan Wai Ho is a distinguished entrepreneur with a diverse portfolio in construction, fashion, and healthcare. He co-founded Urban Anchor, AMENPAPA, Builtmen, and Floww Limited, leading innovative projects in each field. Passionate about social innovation and youth development, he serves as the Chairman of Wofoo SITE (Social Innovation Through Entrepreneurship), which is dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and driving social impact.

In recognition of his contributions, Leo was awarded the Medal of Honor by the Hong Kong Government in 2016.

Nathan is a serial social entrepreneur and healthcare innovator dedicated to leveraging technology for social impact. Being the founder and CEO for Medmind Technology, he focuses on developing interactive gamified platforms that promote healthy aging and improve the well-being of the elderly and other vulnerable groups. It has partnered with over 300 NGOs and hospitals across South East Asia, securing funding from the government, universities, charities and multinational corporations. His groundbreaking solutions have earned widespread recognition in both healthcare and education, reinforcing his commitment to using technology for social good.

Currently pursuing an EMBA, Nathan continues to expand his leadership and management expertise to drive greater impact in social entrepreneurship.


“Industrial Culture Revival and Urban Regeneration”

Speakers: Jing Chunying (Joy) – President of Zhichai Innovation Research Institute, and Cai Ying (Chris) – Researcher at Zhichai Innovation Research Institute

Jing Chunying (Joy) is the President of Zhichai Innovation Research Institute, Deputy Director of the Expert Committee of the China Private Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Association and Mentor at the National Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Base and National Science and Technology Incubator. She is also Vice Chairman of the Guangdong Industrial Design Industry Technology Innovation Alliance and Executive President of the Foshan Furniture Industry Association.  Joy has been deeply engaged in Industrial Design, Industrial Innovation, and Industrial Park Development and is a key promoter in China’s industrial design sector. In 2019, she received the Special Award of the 15th “Guanghua Longteng Award – 70 Guangdong Designers in Celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of New China.”

Cai Ying (Chris) – Researcher at Zhichai Innovation Research Institute

Cai Ying has long been engaged in research on Industrial Development, Innovation Governance, the Silver Economy, and the Cultural, Tourism, and Business sectors. She focuses on industrial innovation, talent development, and industry-academia-research collaboration. She has extensive experience in policy planning, industrial cluster optimization, and high-quality development strategies.
