The Faculty of Social Sciences and Education is hosting the 2nd Forum of Social Work on the13th of March.
This Forum is an annual event is open for all students enrolled in the Social Work (MSW), and Professors of the Department of Social Work (DSW). Alumni, other members of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Education (FSSE) or anyone interested in themes related to Social Work are also welcome.
Objectives:
- To provide the opportunity for MSW graduate to present and share her research project and experience of conducting a dissertation to current year 2 students.
- To provide the opportunity for students to practice communication skills useful for their oral defense.
- To prepare year 1 MSW students for their own research.
- To have a gathering of MSW community (students, staff and alumni) during breaks with refreshments.
- To present the results of research projects conducted in the FSSE’s Department of Social Work.
Intended Outcomes and ‘Deliverables’ of the Activity:
- Posters with the research projects being shared and exposed to the community.
- Positive updates in the research projects as a result of the discussions.
- Closer relationships between students, staff and alumni.
Agenda:
| 7:30-7:50pm | Welcome speech from FSS dean and MSW coordinator |
| 7:50-8:30pm | Presentation by one MSW student who finished the dissertation, with her experience |
| 8:30-9:30pm | Poster session with the research projects of year 2 students / Snacks and refreshments |
