As part of the ongoing ARC Sustainability Performance Assessment at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), the indoor air quality monitoring phase has now been completed, marking an important step in understanding how environmental conditions shape everyday academic experiences.

This stage focused on evaluating indoor environmental quality through real-time data collection across key campus spaces. Parameters such as CO₂ levels, temperature, humidity, and particulate matter were monitored to assess how air quality influences comfort, wellbeing, and the ability to concentrate and learn effectively.

The process was conducted by Urban Practice with the collaboration with Civil Engineering Laboratory of Macau and the Institute of Science and Environment of USJ, ensuring consistency in data collection and alignment with international performance standards, while building a reliable foundation for informed decision-making.

The insights gathered will support targeted improvements to indoor environments, reinforcing USJ’s commitment to healthier, more comfortable spaces that enhance focus, support learning, and contribute to overall user wellbeing.
