Professors from the Faculty of Business and Law at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) reinforced the institution’s global academic standing through their presentations at the International Conference of Business Theories & Practices (iCOB), held at the University of Economics and Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) on 21 – 22 November, 2025.
The delegation included Prof. Alessandro Lampo, Head of the Department of Business Studies, and Prof. Florence Lei, Coordinator for the Faculty’s Sustainable Business Lab. Their participation highlighted USJ’s commitment to research in both technological adoption and sustainable economic development.
Prof. Lampo presented his research paper, titled “From Adoption to Retention: Understanding Generative AI Among Vietnamese Students”. The study examines the factors that influence how students in Vietnam transition from initial experimentation with Generative AI tools to integrating them sustainably into their academic and personal workflows. The research provides valuable guidance for educators and policymakers in Southeast Asia as they adapt to significant changes in digital technology.
Prof. Florence Lei presented her paper, “Green finance and economic growth: A VAR analysis of the Global Green Finance Index” which employs advanced Vector Autoregression (VAR) modelling to examine the dynamic relationship between the development of green financial systems and broader economic growth. Her work offers a rigorous, data-driven perspective critical for shaping effective policies that align financial markets with global sustainability goals.
The attendance and active contributions of Prof. Lampo and Prof. Lei at this conference is a reflection of USJ’s ongoing and deepening engagement in Vietnam. This initiative is a key part of USJ’s strategic mission to strengthen international partnerships, foster academic exchange, and contribute meaningfully to the region’s intellectual and sustainable development.
