USJ’s Institute of Science and Environment and SCAU’s College of Natural Resources and Environment Sign Student Recruitment Cooperation Agreement

This collaboration aims to jointly advance educational and research cooperation in the fields of resource science, environmental protection, and sustainable development between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the international community.



The Institute of Science and Environment at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) and the College of Natural Resources and Environment at South China Agricultural University (SCAU) held a cooperation signing ceremony on 14 of January. During the ceremony, both parties formally signed a student recruitment cooperation agreement and discussed specific collaborative directions, including an intent for a joint laboratory initiative. This collaboration aims to jointly advance educational and research cooperation in the fields of resource science, environmental protection, and sustainable development between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the international community.

Representing SCAU at the signing ceremony were Prof. Liu Chengshuai, Dean of the College of Natural Resources and Environment; Prof. Shu Yinghua, Vice Dean; and Prof. Chen Chengyu. The USJ delegation consisted of Prof. André Antunes, Dean of the Institute of Science and Environment, and Mr. Yang Chengdong, Head of the Mainland Cooperation Office.

This signing marks a crucial step forward in substantive cooperation between USJ’s ISE and SCAU’s CRE. By enhancing Macao’s advantages as a China-Portuguese-speaking Countries platform and an international education hub, and combining them with SCAU’s academic strength in the resources and environment field, both institutions will jointly cultivate professionals with international perspectives and innovative capabilities. This partnership will promote regional green development and scientific research innovation, contributing academic strength to the sustainable development of the Greater Bay Area.
