The Teachers’ Professional Development Centre (TPDC) organised a professional development and pilgrimage tour with 46 educators from Hong Kong.

On the 2nd of May, the Teachers’ Professional Development Centre (TPDC) of the University of Saint Joseph successfully organised a professional development and pilgrimage tour, providing 46 educators from the Catholic Mission School of Hong Kong with invaluable opportunities for knowledge and spiritual growth.

The professional development course was led by Prof. Adelina Moura, an expert in educational technology. Focusing on “Gamification in Teaching and Learning“, the session combined theory and hands-on practice to explore effective ways of integrating game mechanics into lesson design, enhancing classroom engagement and student motivation.

In addition to professional training, the event included a pilgrimage aligned with the 2025 Jubilee theme, taking participants to two Jubilee Churches in Macau: Our Lady of Penha Chapel and St. Joseph’s Seminary and Church. This offered attendees the opportunity to obtain the 2025 Jubilee plenary indulgence.

Prof. Isabel Tchiang, Director of the Teachers’ Professional Development Centre, noted that the event successfully blended professional development with spiritual reflection. She also emphasized that TPDC will continue organizing specialized courses to support Catholic education in the future.
