USJ Students and Staff participated in the USJ Blood Drive event held in Ilha Verde Campus.
The annual “USJ Blood Drive” was jointly organised by the Macao Blood Transfusion Centre and the University of Saint Joseph at the USJ Ilha Verde Campus on the 25 March. The activity was aimed to strengthen the caring and serving spirit of the USJ community to the society, and promote the importance of donating blood. More than 30 students and staff members participated in this meaningful event.
The event started at 11am at the Student lounge. Participants included staff and students from various backgrounds. One of the staff participants mentioned that she had made a pre-registration through the official website, which was convenient for arranging her schedule. Due to her family member’s previous experience of receiving blood transfusions during a surgery, she was eager to take this opportunity to give back to the society.
An international student expressed her excitement about the blood donation event. She mentioned that it was a wonderful opportunity to give back to society and help others. She also believed that extending a helping hand to those in need through such a simple act was particularly meaningful.
A local master’s student expressed that through participating in “USJ Blood Drive,” she deeply experienced the spirit of helping others. As a Macao student, being able to take part in a meaningful blood donation activity on campus is not only an honor but also a responsibility. Blood donation may seem like a simple act, but every drop of blood can be crucial in sustaining someone else’s life. Seeing many students and staff members actively participating made her better understand the power of unity and dedication.
Thanks to all the medical staff of the Blood Transfusion Centre for their support and patience in explaining the steps and precautions to every student and staff member who participated in the event!
