University of Saint Joseph strengthens Southeast Asia outreach and connects with future international students in Kuala Lumpur.
The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao continued its outreach efforts in Southeast Asia by participating in the UKEC Malaysia Education Fair for the second consecutive year, reinforcing its commitment to international student recruitment and regional engagement.
During a five-day visit to Kuala Lumpur, the USJ Macao delegation took part in the UKEC Open Fair as well as several school-based education fairs at international secondary schools. The programme provided valuable opportunities to meet students at different stages of their academic journeys and to introduce Macao as an increasingly attractive destination for higher education.
The UKEC fair brought together dozens of universities from Europe, Australia, and across Asia, drawing a large number of students and families seeking guidance on overseas study pathways. As one of the few participating institutions representing Macao, USJ Macao offered visitors first-hand perspectives on academic life, campus facilities, and the distinctive cultural environment of the city.
Many attendees showed strong interest in USJ’s range of academic programmes and funding opportunities, particularly in disciplines aligned with global industry demand. Conversations with students and parents also reflected a growing openness toward Asian study destinations, with Macao’s safe, dynamic, and multicultural setting appealing to families exploring options closer to home.
Alongside the main fair, visits to local international schools enabled the delegation to engage directly with IGCSE, A-Level, and IB students, as well as school counsellors, helping to establish long-term connections for future recruitment. Interactive presentations and individual consultations allowed the team to address questions related to admissions, scholarships, and career prospects after graduation.
In addition to its on-site recruitment activities in Kuala Lumpur, USJ Macao further extended its outreach through the Virtual Study Abroad Fair held on 24 January 2026 (Saturday), from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The online event provided an additional platform to connect with students and families who were unable to attend the physical fairs, allowing participants to explore USJ’s academic programmes, admissions pathways, and scholarship opportunities remotely. Through live consultations and virtual presentations, the University continued to broaden its engagement with prospective students across the region and strengthen its digital recruitment presence.
USJ Macao’s continued participation in both physical and virtual education fairs highlights the University’s ongoing efforts to expand its international network and to raise awareness of Macao as a promising hub for higher education in Asia. The initiative reflects USJ’s commitment to building meaningful connections with future students and supporting their aspirations for international education.
